The Fun of Giving Awards
I volunteer at Camp Med, an approved childcare program supported by the City of South Pasadena, to improve their playtime. During the summer approximately eighty children aged 5-11 participate.
As for my background, I have had the opportunity to participate in the Olympics every two years and other sports events and have received souvenirs and souvenirs.
Two years ago, at the end of summer camp, I felt compelled to give out an award. In front of the other campers I read the news and presented the Athens Olympics watch to ours:

IT WILL BE GOOD
Growing up as a child, half of the awards I received were natural. These awards meant nothing to me, although some of them were large marble trophies. The most exciting award I received was a small blue ribbon in the second grade that said “Most Outstanding.” I loved the award because it was true and authentic.

During the summer, my wife and I were cleaning out our garage. He found a beautiful pin with small stones. He didn’t want to, but I saw an opportunity, one of our best football players in the camp was also the best dressed.

CHRISTMAS IN JULY
Meanwhile at home, we went through our Christmas decorations that filled our garage. I thought, well, if kids want the rubber tip of a hockey stick, they’d probably like Christmas stuff and announced that for one week (when it was 90 plus degrees in Southern California) that it would be Christmas in July and I. will be giving away Christmas items all week. Every day, I would bring a brown bag with a Christmas item inside and the kids couldn’t wait for the prize giving ceremony to see what was inside.
Within a week, a young man came to me and said he wanted an award. I asked him what he wanted and he said without hesitation, “I want Santa.” All children wanted a reward, but with this boy, there was also a need for gratitude.
The next day, I brought my brown bag. He came up to me quickly and asked if I was his Santa, he was eager and happy. At the end of the game hour, I gave her a brown bag and told her she was getting this award for being the sweetest inside. He opened it and let out Santa. The kids cheered and shot him. He stood in awe of his Santa, vulnerable, wide-eyed, receiving all the help. Later he told me seriously that he felt, “a little embarrassed.” It was one of the most beautiful moments of the summer.

Not everyone has a full garage. There is an amazing, free organization called freecycle that is dedicated to reducing landfill waste. Members play give and take, ask for what they want and send what they have to give. You can send an email to the group asking what you want, for example: antique trophies and jewelry, children’s toys in good condition, etc. You’ll probably get some really cool stuff, all at no cost.

A watch is the perfect reward. It can be modern, stylish and fun. It is useful. You can take it to school. It’s with you all day. It feels special. Children love them. This was the speech of this year’s clock recipient:

After a few days of Summer Camp, I knew, from your supportive actions, that you deserve an award. It turns out that what I found for you, however, was sold in Southern California and Oregon and Minnesota. I finally found a store in Chicago, Illinois that had the last one.
