The Role of the Youth

What does it take for a young Ugandan?

Development, as the advancement of human well-being, is everyone’s desire. Even animals have a natural growth that is only threatened by environmentalists and greed. It may have a rich history or strive for high culture.

Even for the country – it requires patriotism, national culture or knowledge and citizenship, people need good morals, to have the ability to manage and manage work – and to act.

The nature of work related to development always has background support for development. In it, people are not only satisfied – without cheating on anyone, but also, because of the quality of the area in which they live.

Countries like China have shown such characteristics as they have become a world economic power. They have their country at heart and are proud to be Chinese. For the common African in Uganda, showing greed is a rule as soon as he takes office or position.

Since globalization is chasing everyone, greed, the desire to compete for personal and commercial goals has become a bold thing – without shame it can be compared to a global village. People find themselves doing whatever it takes to achieve their many goals, regardless.

It is a system, where apart from providing economic conditions for international affairs; The government may have nothing to do with the welfare of its people, but for them, only acting in good faith to overcome the dangers of national discord.

However, the pressure of the nation has forced many to seek bribes and engage in dubious businesses such as those of working people, and prostitution, theft, show-off, and reckless behavior of non-working people.

And for those who have just been hired, life revolves around celebrating financial happiness with unexpected expenses, living a luxurious life, and regaining the glory that has been lost over time, and sexual celebrations – now that they have the money to experience it all. Some characters here can be careless, especially if they are concerned with the desire to fulfill a dream that has been waiting for a long time.

As Professor Ali Muzrui said, in one of his recent articles on Makerere University, globalization has overtaken schools such as this prestigious school of higher education (Makerere University Kampala). Also, leadership and fear of even positive change remains a stumbling block.

Although major changes can benefit the country, leaders and managers are not affected by them. Instead, they fearlessly act against their country or their people—by showing irresponsibility to the people and being useless to those they serve.

As if planning was not part of work and development, things like (planning) are traditionally done, but not followed. People, on the other hand, tend to follow their anti-social instincts, not being affected by their interests.

And as can be expected in such situations, the type of culture that has been established does not allow the government to prioritize areas that need to be reformed such as; health, research and education – all. However, any development can be attributed to them.

Instead, they emphasize the best way to promote greed and waste of public money. And because of their shields no one said a word. If so, it is a reservation that shows that it is important and is only done carefully with gloved hands. Additionally, eliminate any attempts that threaten the status quo.

Future leadership and management roles may revolve around stealing the community’s secret successes and claiming them as their own. After that, listen to the complaints that come out during the elections considering development as part of the successful programs of the government. There one can go there, but it is a special event.

At these big elections, citizens are afraid to think that the power is theirs, they can become slaves of their thoughts. This tyranny continues to favor the leaders, while it harms the electorate.

This, in fact, shows dishonesty and lack of respect on the part of politicians. It may explain why the number of voters going to the polls has dropped so much. In the future, as it has been, many people will choose to stay with their families, eat, and sleep instead of wasting time with opportunists.

When it comes to budgeting, everything is politicized so that Ugandans are not recognized as hard workers and as part of the figures being tracked. It is not only the government, but Uganda, that can be appreciated for the numbers celebrating the growth.

In what could be a partnership, we see the government trying to establish peace in the country, while the citizens work for development. It would be better to call it a partnership or an agreement between the government and its people to cooperate. That way, it would make sense.

But, there have been discussions that there is no development of the areas that send to the parliament members of the opposition parties. For a long time it has been used as; both campaign threats and election slogans. However, in reality, political thought would not be a sign of development – and be a way to include everything in everyone’s life.

For Busoga, it has been different. Despite giving the ruling government nearly 100% in every presidential election, it has never benefited from annual growth figures. It should be noted that most of Busoga is remote and not passable.

If one has traveled by private means, the car may be in the garage on the way back to Kampala. Only Yuge as a province does not have asphalted roads! Unfortunately or fortunately, the people there (in Busoga) do not want to explain their problems as long as they spend the whole day talking, sleeping and drinking.

So it is not surprising that Malemu Kayabazinga was one of the leaders who stayed in Busoga – to deal with the economic problem of Busoga. In fact, the president was right to call him Jesus of a different race, unlike his counterpart (Kyabazinga) in Mengo. And he was among the leaders that President Museveni wanted. It is likely that the government criticizes politicians who speak the truth about their constituents and speak the same on their behalf in parliament.

The reason was simple. Kyabazinga was, well, selfless in his rule, able to fulfill the cultural traditions of the traditional kings as agreed with the government, and he did not care about promoting the idea of Busoga civilization.

It seems that they did not want to confuse the government with the concerns of the Busoga, because the region had many problems and above all, the failure to unite the Basoga. In doing so, the region suffered like an orphan. In fact, soon “sons” – famous politicians began to fight with each other. This also halted the prospect of regional development.

Being a tradition, it means that the traditional rulers should be as useless as the opposition political parties. The government acted as; a person who hosts a guest, gives him food and immediately orders the guest not to eat. Isn’t it good that I’ve never had a guest?

No wonder many say (Kyabazinga) sold Busoga to NRM politically, while making sacrifices. And if he was the only one who was old, he was telling the Basoga about the Kabakka Mutebi’s rule in Buganda. Therefore, with or without the kingdom in Busoga the daily business would be good.

As if to reinforce the above point, the royal business in Busoga is something that was copied from the surrounding kingdoms in Uganda – especially Buganda which was a local empire. So as the saying goes, Busoga could not step into the shoes of kingdoms like Buganda.

Elsewhere in Uganda, different communities have shown the potential to develop with or without government support. This is evident in places like Kabalagala, Munyonyo, Ntinda and Nalya. To say that the government is responsible, as this song is, perhaps, can mean the ownership of such events by them or their officials, and that all discussions of Ugandans – night or day are organized and monitored by the government.

After all, there may be some truth – noting that while in China the government has implemented a one-child policy, in Uganda some policies are based on liberal considerations. Could this be a combination of the most popular achievements?

Could the question be the lack of morals as grown-up children or the great desires for power or position that have led to political and economic fraud? The latter would make sense because one can find people who die after retirement or because of pressure to perform well in office.

And it can be known to people that people are ready to do anything to keep their good place. Do you always have to ask everyone if they want to have the most prestigious and highest position in the world?

Another question may be: where are the youth? Having representatives of the parties of special celebrations in the parliament is not enough – because their work benefits only them (representatives).

In the existing institutions, the youth, clearly, are not allowed and it does not matter, if so, only during the election. But, being the most powerful force in the community, it needs to be used. Even if left untreated, they can become addicted to drugs and crime.

As the situation shows, young people should just help themselves instead of waiting for the intervention of Christ’s government. It may require planning of actions and participation in all self-rescue procedures.

Since 2011 is coming, the youth should take the opportunity to take everyone in political positions. Now is the time to do something about reaching out to seniors by contacting voters. In Kenya, there is already a youth movement that continues to take care of the needs of the youth. Young people there believe that they have never benefited from the old political class.

Do Ugandan youth have the wisdom of development everywhere?

Under the union organizations and political parties the problem of money can be solved easily. At this point, skills and interests will be transformed into economic benefits that will contribute to life. Working on small projects with patience and dedication to your goals, dealing with health issues skillfully, can bring amazing improvements in the long run.

On the other hand, we need to have time to serve the people we want to lead. A person who can be a leader must be a servant. This means that you need to focus very little on the long-term plans associated with supporting businesses.

If it is agro-based, for example, there should be a shop, a restaurant, a transport business, a mill, processing or processing and exporting – as is the case when someone is planning to change the easy way to make money. The rule here can be: save or invest – one at a time or all of the past.
