English Premier League 2010/11 – Who Will Be Relegated?

As the lucky few at the top of the Premier League table think about honors and European qualifications, so many in the league have the opportunity to exit as a possibility, if they don’t want to. In this section we look at the prospects and tell you now the relegated teams in the Premier League come May 2011.

At the start of the season there was one person in the world, one in six billion or so, who thought Blackpool would survive the Premier League test and finish second (or maybe third). The fact that the person he was interrogating was a madman, Ian Holloway, made his belief seem false. Ian “renti-quote” Holloway, good for a laugh, did a great job and got lucky last season… but Premier League survival? It can’t be done.

However, in the most unpredictable and crazy Premier League season for years we have Blackpool flying in 10th place with a game in hand to move them to 6th. What’s even more surprising is that they have only played eight of their 21 home games due to the cold weather. and their old places. Is this the biggest surprise of the season? Maybe. But what about 9th-placed Newcastle, 4th-placed Chelsea, Bolton going into the Europa League, Everton and Liverpool both in the final and final, 17th-placed Aston Villa, relegated on goal difference?

Oh yes, this has been a funny old year for funny old games. The battle of elimination has been the same, tough, unpredictable and impossible to call. As it stands, the lowest places are occupied by Wigan in 18th, followed by Wolves and West Ham who support the league. However, with only 10 points separating the Hammers at the bottom, and Bolton, who are in 7th, anything can happen.

Well, let’s take a look at the teams in trouble…

Everpool – I will put the two sides of the Mersey together and put them under “safeguards”. Everton have the edge in terms of personnel and stability on the pitch but even Liverpool have plenty of problems. Don’t waste your money betting on any of these to be relegated from the Premier League in 2011.

Blackpool – They can be in the top league, have a game in hand, have a HOME game in hand, but not safe. As injuries and maintenance pile up, the Tangerines are at risk of quitting. They still have to play Manchester United and Spurs twice – no points from those four would make for a different form.

Blackburn -Another struggling North West club with points on the board but could struggle. The manager doesn’t guarantee it but spends a few quid on the window for security.

West Brom – The Baggies have started the season in impressive form. Six games in September and October saw them go unbeaten, drawing with Spurs and Manchester United and beating Arsenal. He was scoring exciting goals and passing the ball like an Arsenal and Brazil fan. Since November, they have lost nine out of 13 league games. Their next three home games are against Wigan, West Ham and Wolves and if they can get the same result they got against Blackpool – a win – in their last home game, it will be good. Their home form is strong so we say the Baggies CANNOT go down this season.

Fulham – Hughes is a very good manager and desperate to get Fulham down. With Andy Johnson back to health and scoring they will have enough form, with Dempsey, Hangeland and Bobby Zamora back, to turn their tally into enough wins to avoid the drop.

Birmingham City – One of the surprise teams of last season when they won 1-0 as old Arsenal, Birmingham have struggled this season. They have drawn as many games as Fulham, and like Fulham, their goal difference gives them a point advantage over their rivals and this, along with their strong defence, will keep them safe.

Aston Villa -Signing Darren Bent for £18m shows their intentions. Maybe pick up another player or two on the screen and know Houllier on the kingdom they will be better.

Wigan – Sorry pie eaters, Wigan are being relegated from the Premier League. He has the lowest scoring rate in the league, for all the goals Martinez has passed, and he’s going down the backfield. The team has lost key players in recent seasons and has not replaced them and lacks spine, stamina or fighting spirit. Also, they have all the big teams left to play and tough games at Sunderland, West Brom and Stoke. This game says bye bye Wigan.

Wolves – Only one of the three W’s at the bottom of the table has any hope of avoiding relegation from the Premier League. They have good team spirit and spirit and have been unlucky in most games so far. With a bit of luck and key players, such as striker Doyle, will return to fitness with a good chance.

West Ham – Desperation, perplexity, perplexity. We’ve said this for a while and it wasn’t the call of the century we’ve still been using our guns even though they’ve been slightly refreshed. It’s led by a man with a penchant for ironing boards and has one actor who seems to be in the thick of it, in Scott Parker. Piquionne recently missed a game to recover in France due to a toothache that almost cut short the fight in the group. As Wigan have lost key players in the last two seasons, for example Dean Ashton, James Collins and Lee Bowyer and have not replaced them and like Wigan, the game does not look kind. West Ham, meet The Championship, TC, meet West Ham.

So who will be relegated from the Premier League?

Well, yes, only two teams, West Ham and Wigan, have been mentioned as being relegated. The finals will boil down to the wire and I wouldn’t be surprised to see three or four teams all in the mix come the last week of the season. Wolves, Blackpool, Blackburn and West Brom look very vulnerable but in this crazy year maybe Liverpool or other “big” teams can surprise us. We would be foolish to leave the third team until the end of the season so at the moment, the teams relegated from the Premier League are West Ham and Wigan.
